I've completed my first trilogy! Granted, I didn't know it would end up a trilogy when I started this piano book series, but here we are!
I'm delighted to announce the release of Simply Curry, Vol. 3, published by Lorenz Music. This is the third and final volume in their Simply Curry series for solo piano. The "Simply" part of the title refers to the arrangements being at an easier technical level (intermediate) and less jazzy than some of my other books. In my opinion, the most challenging technical aspects of the book are occasional right hand octaves in climactic moments. Most of the arrangements are around 3 to 4 minutes— great for use before services or during communion.
For this collection, I requested suggestions from my newsletter subscribers (You are subscribed to the monthly newsletter, right? If not, you can sign up on this very page!). As it turns out, half of the 10 titles in the book were requests.
One fun challenge for me personally in working on this book was some of the requested hymn titles were new to me, such as "How Can I Keep from Singing" and "If You But Trust in God to Guide You." This helped me bring a fresh energy to the arranging process even to the hymns I was familiar with.
The hymns included in this piano sheet music:
- I Have Decided to Follow Jesus
- Rock of Ages
- Have Thine Own Way, Lord
- Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
- How Can I Keep from Singing
- Take My Life and Let It Be Consecrated
- If You But Trust in God to Guide You
- What a Friend We Have in Jesus
- In the Garden
- Like a River Glorious
Please enjoy the YouTube video below of "How Can I Keep from Singing" which will give you a taste for the book's style, tone, and technical difficulty. Here's a screenshot of some comments on the video and arrangement from my Facebook post.
